Ultor, based in Melbourne, are experts in delivering sustainable environmental outcomes through the targeted destruction of vertebrate established pest and game animals.
Ultor has the experience and capability to effectively, quietly, safely and humanely hunt and destroy vertebrate pest and game animals even in Public Places. In doing so, Ultor's focus is on safety and public well-being. Ultor strives to conduct ground shooting operations safely, quietly and efficiently, so as not to disturb the public's interests.
Ultor’s unique approach to hunting deer, in particular, is based on its philosophical view that wild deer are pest animals that impact biodiversity, the utilisation of innovative technological capabilities to complement traditional hunting methods, exceptional levels of shooting operational experience as a consequence of military and specialist law enforcement training and outcomes-based performance management engagement models.
Ultor’s operational experience and advanced technological capabilities enable a more coordinated and focused approach to pest and game animal destruction by leveraging advanced technologies and complimentary work practices that have been used and iteratively refined by military organisations for the last two decades.
Ultor has AUD20 million public liability insurance underwritten by Lloyds of London.
Ultor has the capability to safely and lawfully hunt and destroy game and pest animals in private properties and Public Places (as defined within the Victorian Summary Offences Act 1996).

We have lived on our semi-rural property of 72 acres which has a mixture of open pasture and native bush in Belgrave South for some 32 years.
As a horse rider, I regularly traverse some other properties in the neighbourhood. For many years I have observed some deer, particularly fallow, in the bush. However, over the past five to six years there has been a significant growth in the numbers seen during daylight hours.
Over the past two years, we would regularly observe groups of up to 30 deer on a almost daily basis, grazing our paddocks to such an extent that we had to destock cattle because of competition for forage.
Occasional forays by recreational shooters have made little, if any, impression on these numbers at all.
Through a friend I came into contact David from Ultor Pty Ltd. Ultor arranged a demonstration of a drone assisted deer shooting with observers from DELWP, Victoria Police and neighbours.
I was very impressed, not only with the utilisation of new technology, flying a drone to identify the location of deer and communicating with the hunters, pinpointing the position of deer, but also with the very professional approach of David and Craig of Ultor, displaying a commitment to safety and humane destruction of the feral deer.
David arranged the required paperwork and agreements from us and our neighbours, and conducted a thorough and comprehensive briefing of all those present. Despite this particular night (26 June 2021), being the foggiest night of the year, which precluded the assistance of the drone for a large part of the evening, they shot six deer that night, and another 11 in one night, a fortnight later. Subsequent visits at approximately 6-8 week intervals have yielded further numbers of deer killed, including sambar.
While this has made a recognisable difference to the deer numbers on our and surrounding properties, we are still seeing numbers in daylight, particularly when in the bush on horseback. (Deer in this area are generally not concerned about horses, often grazing with them under cover of darkness.)
We hope to have David and Craig return on an on-going basis, as it is obvious that control of deer numbers in our area will be a concern for some time to come.
I am more than happy to recommend the services of David and Craig of Ultor to any landholder in similar circumstances.
